Healthy Cells for a Healthy Body During Cold and Flu Season

When we approach a wellness routine to protect ourselves from the impending cold and flu season, we need to address all fronts – even the tiniest ones, like our cells. Each cell in the body has DNA that contains our genetic information, a genetic blue print, if you will. As this replication occurs, over 80% of certain specific portions of human DNA are methylated, which means that they have CH3 methyl groups attached to them that act as replacements for hydrogen. Methyl groups also act as safety brake for certain portions of DNA that should not be expressed unless required. The problem arises when you don’t have enough methyl groups to use as “stoppers”.
